Sparky is a Mcnab collie: Black & white, medium smooth coated, pick of the litter. Out of our matriarch, full Mcnab female, Holly, and by Riley, Mcnab border collie - a master of cattle. As a working dog, Sparky has the heading traits we seek for in working cattle. He will fetch and hold the cattle, keeping them collected until he is called off. He has bite when needed and speed with stamina. His litters are proving to be consistent to the breed type. Pleasing personality.
Styx is a black-tri male Mcnab shepherd who originates out of working stock from Yreka, Ca and is the perfect outside addition to our breeding program. He has all the traits and characteristics we look for in our own dogs, plus the rare tri color. His owners contacted us because they know how special he is as a companion, watchdog, and horseback riding partner and felt his line should be preserved. Upon meeting Styx, we knew right away he has that Mcnab aura and expresses himself through kind, intelligent eyes and communicative body language.
Bugs (Cuddle Bug) is a Mcnab collie with a black and white smooth hair coat. Her father, Side Kick was a Mcnab border collie from a local ranch who we bred with our Brea, and we sure are glad we did. Bugs is producing a lots of color; red bi's, black bi's, with a splash of speckles and an occasional blue eye. Her offspring have been making excellent family companions as well as performance and working stock dogs. Bugs herself is a working stock dog and helps Sparky gather the cattle when she is not on maternity leave. Her personality traits are sweet, sensitive, loving, and fun. (Retired and re-homed. Deceased)
Nellie is a black & white smooth coated full border collie. She has the working border collie style - crouching, stealthy and well balanced. She has lots of power over stock with her BC stare and a bite to back it up. Personality is very sweet and loving towards everyone she meets. We believe she is a good cross with the full Mcnab and has produced very nice puppies that are going on to perform in stock dog trials, agility and tracking. (Retired & Re-homed.)
Daley is a Mcnab collie, black and white smooth coated with a powder blue eye. She is all our best bloodlines all wrapped in one. She is out of Riata who was out of Brea, and by our toughest Mcnab collie male, Cisco. So Daley would be considered fourth generation Garcin stock dog. She is tough like her grandfather and has the speed of her mother. Unbeatable fast! She is dependable at working stock, cattle and sheep, and she has what it takes - just like her forefathers. She is confident, dominant, sensible and friendly towards people - a real pleasure to be around!
Haley is a black and white Mcnab collie from a ranch in Ukiah, Ca., home of the original Mcnabs. Her owner contacted us wishing to preserve her breeding in our program. After meeting Haley (who is brighter than the comet!) I said by all means; I would love to introduce her breeding into our program.
Fast forward, and two litters (by Sparky) later . . . we are receiving such positive feedback on her offspring. They are excelling at herding, hunting, agility, nose work and as wonderful, faithful companions - and willing to rise to any occasion. Her offspring have been sporting short to medium hair coats, with a variety of color combinations from traditional to tri-colors. A few of the qualities Haley passes on: slender build for stamina and agility, cat-footed, ears can be sharp or folded - and then of course, intelligence, confidence, loyalty and willingness to please.
This male stud dog is located in Mendocino county and his origins can be traced back exclusively to ranch dogs in the Mendocino area. Mac has all the fine characteristics and traits of the traditional foundation Mcnab ranch dogs. We are tickled to have had the opportunity to introduce his bloodline into our program through Mae. He is now retired and is a service dog.
Brea is black & white with speckles and a slick, smooth coat. First daughter of Holly's out of Riley. Full sister to Sparky. She has proven to be an excellent producer of Mcnab collies, all of which have gone on to be working stock dogs, agility performance dogs, and active family pets. Brea herself is a strong cattle dog and has the stride of a thoroughbred race horse. Her personality is very sweet, sensitive, and cautious of strangers. Will greet when told it is okay. (Retired & Re-homed.)
Queenie is a smooth double coat black tri Mcnab ranch dog from Idaho. Arranged partnership in order to obtain her bloodlines for our breeding program. She is a tough competitor and loves to run, and has a strong short coupled body with good bone. She is an alpha dog who is very sweet with people. She literally greets you with a smile - she has the ability to lift her lips and say HELLO. Retiring and seeking a new home. She is a sweet girl who will be a great companion. (Retired and re-homed.)
Holly is a black & white smooth, single coat full Mcnab. She is every bit Mcnab and is the best representation of the breed that we have found to date. She is the matriarch of our breeding program and is now retired from her maternal duties. However, she is still a working dog, as she enjoys controlling the ducks, sheep, cat, cockatoo, and of course, cattle. She moves with such grace and is well balanced, working both ends and middle. Personality is of utmost loyalty and will not let anyone touch her but Teri. Confident in all she performs and is a know it all multi-tasker. (Retired in her forever home with us.)
Bridda is a Mcnab kelpie cross and joined our breeding incentive program in August 2015. Displaying a blue hued jet black slick single coat against piercing amber eyes, she is striking in an exquisite kind of way. More than appearance I could see the athletic prowess and her bright attentive facial expressions displayed intelligence, reservation, and independent thinking. She has proven how adaptable and versatile she is by working with her owner Tony helping care for many species at a non-profit ranch, to being a service companion when they visit a home for the elderly who have dementia and alzheimer's. She had a litter out of our Mcnab, Cinch in 2015. They produced outstanding offspring and we hear back glowing reports from their owners.
Mae is a ranch bred Mcnab out of Mendocino County. Mae and her past pups demonstrate strength in herding, agility, nose work and a love for water sports. Very confident, outgoing people pleasers!
