Hidden Highlands Ranch
Hidden Highlands, home to Justy Garcin Cattle Company and Garcin McNab Stockdogs Justy & Teri Garcins ranch encompasses over 40,000 acres of private and government land leases. The ranch has been a working ranch for over 100 years. Over time the Garcin clan eventually settled on raising a tough composite breed of cattle that could endure the mountainous coastal chaparral region of the Central Coast California. The ranch's need for herding dogs that were as tough as the country they had to cover and the cattle they gathered is a priority to the ranchers co-existence with the land and stock they steward.
Stock-men are the stewards of the present day stock-dogs, having set high standards and requirements for the most suitable canine to fit the environment. Because of their strict selection of breeding for a canine with natural herding abilities and intelligence that can reason combined with athletic ability, there has evolved an all-around herding dog with an uncanny intuitive disposition , extreme stamina and athletic ability. This is being proven out today not only as stock dogs, but in the realm of canine performance sports such as agility, nose tracking, as well as search & rescue dogs, service dogs , obedience trials and loyal active family canine companions.
Here at Garcin McNab Stockdogs our goal is to continue cultivating our own brand of stock-dogs. We take pride in raising good all around Ranch/Farm herding heritage stock dogs. We will continue to keep the stock dog heritage alive and genetically disease free for generations to come. We explore outside bloodlines from other ranches and reputable breeders to help establish what we consider a loose eye fetching/ heading style canine that can gather a diverse variety of small to large domestic stock.As well as a canine which is biddable and wants to please and perform in other venues outside of herding.
