Justy & Teri would not be able to gather cattle in the chaparral coastal mountains of Central Coast California without the help of their McNab stockdog working partners!
Our McNab stockdogs are bred to withstand the harsh conditions, their short slick hair coats shed off burrs & keeps them cooler. They are also known for their loose eyed heading, fetching style, keen noses, athleticism and extreme stamina for mustering cattle and all types of livestock.

The McNab is well known for their amazing abilities in many kinds of venues, our dogs have been excelling in all kinds of performance competitions,Herding dog trials, Search & Rescue,Scent Work , Service Therapy work and active families that enjoy engaging with their fur family member.

Garcins Secret & Iron Oak Chishom

McNab K9 for Search & Rescue and Stock WorkDriven. Clear‑headed. Purpose‑built.
Secret is a compact, athletic McNab whose working ability shows in every discipline she touches. At 30 pounds, she is efficient, agile, and powerful—small enough to move effortlessly through tight spaces and rugged terrain, yet strong enough to handle demanding work on stock or long operational periods in SAR.
By 2½ years old, Secret earned dual certification in Trailing and Human Remains Detection and has deployed on multiple searches throughout California. She is a dog who works with commitment: persistent on odor, stable under pressure, and able to maintain focus through challenging conditions. Her stamina is exceptional—she simply does not quit.
Secret’s herding aptitude is equally notable. She shows natural stock sense, intensity, and enthusiasm, consistently leaving the training pen wanting more. Her instinctive ability to read movement, anticipate changes, and respond with precision translates directly into her SAR work, where problem‑solving and environmental awareness are critical.
Temperamentally, Secret is balanced and reliable. She is confident without being sharp, tender without being soft, and inquisitive without losing clarity. She transitions smoothly between work and downtime, making her easy to manage on deployments, around livestock, and within multi‑dog environments.
Secret will be bred at the end of the year. Puppies are expected to carry her hallmark traits

Iron Oak Chisholm

Chisholm resides at Hidden Highlands ranch, home to Garcin McNab Collies. We are proud of our Chisholm as he is 10 generations of our breeding program, and 26 McNab strains that we have brought into the ranch McNab breeding program to help with conservation of the breed, over the past 25 years, a careful selection of working McNab stockdogs, that are well balanced for all types of activities.
Chisolm has proven to us that not only is he exceptional as a working cattle stockdog which takes a dog with bravado to face off with a 2000 lb bull, he’s also sensitive to the baby calves and never worries them. Chisholm’s pastime favorite thing to do is follow his nose and stock ground squirrels, he is fast and overtakes them with deadly precision! Chis’s dam Iron Oak Remington’s won the Montana state Champion for Barn Rat hunting events , so no wonder he is our champion ground squirrel huntshound!
Chisholm also comes from a long line of Service/Therapy McNabs that started in our program from our original Foundation McNab pair Smiths Riley & Big Sky Holly. This pairing and the next 10 generations have produced puppies that have gone on to perform Hospital visits, therapy work, Service dog task work, Special needs Children work and Hospice end of life service.
Chisholm carries in his blood champions in Dock diving performance, Agility and Scent work. The line also includes Search & Rescue & Fema service dogs. The Sky is the limit with this line of McNabs. Chis is a pleaser and always wants to do the right thing,
Chis’s offspring are well balanced, mentally and physically Chis is medium build, weighing 38 pounds, medium haircoat length. He has a dilution color gene. He produces red tri, black tri, black & tan with creeping tan gene & saddle and black bi color. Like a box of assorted chocolates.
Best of all! Chis’s DNA report tells us he is free of over 250 genetic diseases & 100% McNab.

Garcin McNab Stock Dogs-Herding Heritage Program
We have high standards for our land race McNab Stockdog breeding program which includes McNab Stock dog lineage from established respected bloodlines, we have preserved 26 strains of McNab bloodlines into our breeding program to assure a viable gene pool for the conservation of the breed. All of our dogs have been DNA'd tested for over 250 known congenital diseases . Our standards are to keep the breed sound and free of genetic health diseases and a low Co-efficiency of inbreeding.
